Ramen (Wicker Park)

Anyone that knows me well knows my eternal love of noodles, but since I have been on a health kick lately I really try to minimize the carbs I eat and therefore have not been able to indulge in a while. Over the weekend though, I was able to go and get some of my favorite ramen from Oiistar. This place takes a bit of a different spin on the original Japanese ramen noodles because they serve up dishes with an Italian or french twist. Best part about this ramen is that the noodles are hand pulled, and the broth is cooked for over 18 hours and you can definitely taste the effort that goes into this dish. I can definitely say that this is my favorite place to go get ramen, and it tends to get very busy so I would suggest calling before you go.

If you ever want to check it out, I would suggest ordering the following things to make sure you get to taste the best of what they have to offer: order the spicy fried chicken for the appetizer, also check out some of their Asian buns (some people are not fans of the slaw on my favorite tempura shrimp bun, but i absolutely love it!). Make sure to try one of their ramen dishes, my go to is the Oiimen Classic, but i also really like the Umami which is a bit more spicy. These pictures really can’t capture how amazing this ramen is, so feast your eyes, but then feast yourself and go try some!

Any suggestions for ramen places in Chicago?
