Masking Mondays

My favorite wash-off masks!

As much as I love the new sheet mask trend I am still pretty ‘old-school’ when it comes to skin care. I prefer the wash-off masks simply because they always seem to noticeably transform the skin. I know that these types of masks are not everyone’s favorite, but some of the results they produce are well worth the trip to the sink to wash it off.  Here are some of my favorite wash-off masks:

Glam Glow Super Mud Clearing Treatment – this is my go-to once a week clearing mask. Its a dark gray, smooth mud mask that tingles on application. It’s my tried and true. I keep it on until I can’t move my face or for about 20 minutes and then wash off. Washing this off can be a challenge so I always use a washcloth and warm water to help with cleansing. This mud mask is pricy but a little bit goes a long way.

Peter Thomas Roth Suflur Masque – this is my secret weapon! White creamy and cool to the touch. I don’t use this as an all over mask, but keep it on my top shelf for emergency zit situations. It’s incredible as an overnight spot treatment. Don’t use too much since this mask is also super drying. This mask is pricy too, but will last you a while. I buy one jar a year to keep it fresh and only use a clean tiny spoon to scoop some out for every usage.

No 7 Hydration Mask – This mask is a Target find a pretty light pink and clear swirl. A wonderful, affordable hydration mask. The seasons in Chicago can be brutal and anything that packs this much hydration in a 10 minute session, has my vote. This creamy mask soaks into the skin quickly and plumps everything and leaves a gorgeous dewy glow.  The next day your skin will look even better. This mask is more on the affordable side (I found mine at Target), and the only one that smells light and perfume-y. I highly recommend this for anyone in need of deep hydration in a short period of time.

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask – I am new to this cult favorite, and I’m still testing it out, but I really do see my skin glowing after I’ve used this.  I don’t know about the weird jelly consistency, and you know how picky I am with consistency, but I have started applying most of my masks with brushes, the texture doesn’t bother me as much. I love how it’s made with fruit and it resurfaces the skin very well (don’t use this during break outs).
