Basic Routine

With the constant change of weather that we have had in Chicago, my skin has not been too happy. I really had to take it one step at a time because for a while because nothing was working.

I immediately looked at what I was eating, and adjusted some of my diet. I gave up coffee, it as painful, but I love all kinds of tea anyway. I stopped eating a lot of dairy, and red meat. And I also started drinking smoothies and green juices to replenish not eating enough veggies. All of this combined with a ton of working out and yoga to get back to being healthy finally started working (working out also helps with skin too because it stimulates your lymph and helps detox).

After years of drying my skin out I also realized that oily skin is actually thirsty skin, and if you give it some moisture, it will stop producing as much oil. Same thing with pimples, some do not need to be dried out because that just prevents them from healing. If you are dealing with oily congested skin, especially skin that is acne prone like mine, I suggest a simple and basic routine: a gentle cleanser, a balancing toner, maybe a dry oil for acne, and a good moisturizer, gel preferred.
